SpeedGrade in the Lowry Pipeline

Part 4:
The Story of John Lowry and DTS Digital Images |
IRIDAS: As a key player in the beta team, DTS
Digital Images has had a lot of input in the development of SpeedGrade
DI.
Mike: Well, I think that was a two-way street. We've both
benefited. From our side, we've received service and support from IRIDAS.
They were extremely responsive and very willing to accept input and
real-world production feedback. And obviously, the product now fits our
workflow very well.

The image enhancement technology developed by John Lowry goes far
beyond conventional "dustbusting" extracting a wealth of hidden detail.
Mike: At the same time, IRIDAS didn't know that much about high end
color correction when we first started out and I think we've helped pull
SpeedGrade into the world of the colorist - and what it takes to make
the artist and the client happy. The relationship has been good for both
of us.
IRIDAS: What do you think of the SpeedGrade now?
Mike: SpeedGrade now supports multiple LUT environments and
has become even more flexible. It can be driven from a trackball
based panel, which is crucial to efficient color correction. Its new
windowing capability is very powerful and flexible. And, it fits well
with our rendering model. The user interface enhancements, automation
features and simplification of operations have been great. We really
appreciate IRIDAS' determination to create a better product every day.
We thank Mike Inchalik for taking the time to speak with us.
DTS Digital Images is off to a great start and IRIDAS is proud to be a
part of the pipeline! We wish John Lowry and his team continued success.
