IRIDAS: Your feedback played a big role in the
evolution of SequencePublisher's text stamping. Could you tell us a bit
about how you use this feature at Digital Dimension?
Sure. As I mentioned before, this used to be a separate process which
meant we only stamped one set of frames and it had to work for every
format we were going to transcode it into. This made it impossible
to customize stamping for different outputs. What SequencePublisher has
allowed to do is package the process of stamping with the transcoding.
Now we can have a different stamp on each QuickTime movie we make; the
QuickTime the client sees can have different information in it than the
QuickTimes we use internally.
When we receive new scans for a show, we can stamp the work area right
on the QuickTime proxy and it can be different for every show. This
makes it easy for us to quickly see what doesn't need an effect.
SequencePublisher 2006 uses burn-in templates to add metadata as
text and graphical information to output files
IRIDAS: What projects do you have on the go
now?
Currently we are working on Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby,
Pursuit of Happiness, Stranger than Fiction, The Covenant and Race to
Mars. We are also working on a full length CG feature film in our
Montreal Studio.
