January 2006: SequencePublisher 2006 at Digital Dimension


 
Beyond the set, Digital Dimension created an all-CG moonbase-of-the-future during lunar night: complete with roaming vehicles, walking astronauts, and working mines.

This shot not only contains a full-CG building replacement, but also smoothly marries two different shooting locations into one continuous camera movement.

This comp contains mutiple lighting passes of the ship and house minatures, a practical explosion, and CG rocket and debris created by Digital Dimension. 
 

With SequencePublisher, Digital Dimension was able to see the work area on the original plates as soon as they came in house.
The final result shows the Quicktime that the client saw, matted to the film's aspect ratio.
