January 2006: SequencePublisher 2006 at Digital Dimension
Beyond the set, Digital Dimension created an all-CG moonbase-of-the-future
during lunar night: complete with roaming vehicles, walking astronauts, and
working mines.
This shot not only contains a full-CG building replacement,
but also smoothly marries two different shooting locations into one
continuous camera movement.
This comp contains mutiple lighting passes of the ship and
house minatures, a practical explosion, and CG rocket and debris created by
Digital Dimension.
With SequencePublisher, Digital Dimension was able to see the work area on
the original plates as soon as they came in house.
The final result shows the Quicktime that the client saw, matted to the
film's aspect ratio.
